The Democratic Progressive Caucus of Brevard

Officers:

President- Eli Logan

Eli Logan is a life-long Florida resident and has been a Democrat for over 20 years. She recently became entrenched in political activism after the 2016 elections. She attended the Women’s March in Washington DC and has been championing human rights ever since. Her passions include learning, being a mother, and fighting for civil justice for all. As president of the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Brevard, she hopes to bring awareness to the progressive platform and help create positive change locally and nationally.

Vice President- Karen Best

Karen Best is an author and educator who has worked in higher education for the past seven years. She also serves as co-chair of the Communications Committee of the Brevard Democratic Executive Committee. A long-time Brevard County resident, she lives with her family and cats in Melbourne. When not working for political change, she enjoys reading, writing, and crafting. She joined the Democratic Progressive Caucus to create a more just, equitable, and inspiring future for the many—not just the few

Treasurer- Karen Wade

Karen Wade is a proud activist of the environment, women’s equal rights and civil justice.
She is the mother of 3 college students and also has been a Guardian Ad Litem for 4 years.
She is the President of Rethink Energy Brevard Chapter and Owner of AppSys LLC a software consulting firm.

Secretary- Eric Lehmann

Eric Lehmann works in Information Technology, providing support for cloud based solutions to infrastructure issues. He is a father of four, with two teenage step-daughters, and two young sons living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Eric also serves in the Democratic Executive Committee of Brevard County, and helps with the communications and environmental committees. He also serves as parliamentarian and webmaster for the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Brevard. In his spare time, Eric enjoys playing with his Newfoundland puppy, Nana, gardening and cooking with his family.

Directors:

Damani Hosey

Damani is a family physician at Health First Medical Group.  He received his MD from University of Michigan Medical School and received a Masters of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.  He completed my family medicine residency at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach in 2005 and has lived in Florida ever since.  Damani has been active in organized medicine as a former president of the Florida Association of Family Practice Residents and as a board member for the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.  Locally, he has served as a Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at Palm Bay Hospital.  Currently he is President and Founder of the Brevard Action Alliance, a local community activist group promoting progressive causes.  Damani has been a lifelong Democrat and was active in the political campaigns of Barack Obama for President.

Pete Colombo

Pete Colombo is the owner of The Blade Guy, LLC., a small cutting tool distributorship. Married for 30 years he and his wife Cha Cha have three adult children.

On why he’s a progressive Democrat: “I’m a progressive Democrat because I’m for forward thinking, effective government which provides universal health care, investment in education, a clean environment and a fair shake for all Americans.”
